Medal Ribbon Bars

A pair of mounted military ribbon bars representing multiple campaign and commemorative medals from the Second World War and the postwar period. The ribbons are woven silk with vivid multicolour patterns, attached to metal backing bars with clasps.

Top Ribbon Bar (4 ribbons, left to right):
-1939–1945 Star – dark blue, red, and light blue stripes.
-France and Germany Star – blue, white, red, white, and blue stripes.
-Defence Medal – green with narrow black stripes and a wide orange centre.
-Canadian Volunteer Service Medal – green with red, dark blue, and yellow edges.

Bottom Ribbon Bar (4 ribbons, left to right):
-End of War Commemorative Ribbon – red, blue, and white.
-Unknown Medal – unidentified multicoloured ribbon (possibly campaign- or theatre-specific).
-Commemorative Medal of the 1939–1945 War with France – light blue with narrow red chevrons.
-Centennial Medal (Canada 1967) – red with white centre and borders.

These sets represent service during the Second World War, followed by postwar recognition for national or allied contributions. The grouping likely belonged to a Canadian veteran who served in Europe under combined Allied command, possibly with French forces.
