Medal Platinum Jubilee Medal

Circular gilt medal suspended from a silk ribbon composed of a central white stripe flanked by blue bands, each bordered in red. The obverse bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, while the reverse features the Canadian Coat of Arms beneath a royal crown and flanked by the commemorative dates marking 50 years of the Queen’s reign.

The Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal was established in 2002 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the throne. It was awarded to Canadians who made outstanding contributions to their communities, public service, or the nation.
