Handmade wooden butter mold composed of two detachable parts. The rectangular base acts as a pressing box or mold cavity, open at the top and bottom, with a smooth interior for shaping butter. The second component is a removable plunger and press plate, consisting of a cylindrical handle attached to a flat base with two short nails on either side for alignment and stability when pressing.
When assembled, the plunger fits through a round opening on the mold’s top, allowing pressure to be applied evenly to compact or imprint butter into the desired block shape. The piece is constructed from light, unfinished softwood and shows signs of use, including wear, discoloration, and minor cracking consistent with contact with moisture and dairy fat.
