Helmet Cover

A cotton camouflage helmet cover in the distinctive “splinter” pattern, featuring angular brown and green shapes over a light khaki background, with fine green rain-like streaks printed throughout. The cover includes fabric loops sewn around the exterior for attaching natural foliage or additional camouflage material.

The design descends from the Wehrmacht “Splittertarnmuster” camouflage introduced in 1931 and used extensively during the Second World War for Zeltbahn shelters, helmet covers, and field gear. Postwar, the West German Bundeswehr adopted a similar pattern during the early Cold War before transitioning to the “Alpenflage” and later Flecktarn systems.
