Horse Collar

Traditional horse collar used as part of a draft harness.
Made from thick leather padded with natural materials (possibly straw, hair, or sawdust) and shaped into a large oval to fit around a horse’s neck.
The interior is contoured for comfort and even distribution of weight, with visible hand-stitching along the seams.
A small metal hook and leather strap remain at the base, likely used to attach hames or traces for pulling wagons or plows.
