Bayonet

A bayonet and scabbard assembly designed for use with the FN C1 and C2 service rifles, which were standard-issue weapons for Canadian and Commonwealth forces during the Cold War period.

The bayonet has a blackened steel blade (not visible here), with a steel hilt and pommel featuring a spring catch mechanism for attachment to the rifle’s barrel lug. The grips are made of blackened composite material and secured with two rivets.

It is accompanied by a black steel scabbard and a green canvas frog (belt carrier) with a buttoned securing strap. The front of the frog has been painted black, likely for uniform appearance during service.
