A folding steel clasp knife consisting of a main cutting blade, marlinspike, and can-opener, with a steel lanyard loop at one end. The knife features nickel-plated or tinned steel handle scales fixed with brass rivets. This model represents the later 1937–1939 pattern, which introduced a redesigned can-opener to replace the earlier short, hooked type seen on the 1913 design.
This compact multipurpose knife was standard issue for British and Commonwealth forces during the Second World War, used for cutting rations, ropework, and general field maintenance. Its robust, utilitarian construction made it an essential item of personal equipment for soldiers, sailors, and airmen alike.
