Gaiters (Pair)

Pair of canvas gaiters made from tightly woven khaki cotton, each secured with two brass buckles and leather reinforcement tabs. The interior features two half-moon shaped leather patches for structure and comfort around the ankle.

The gaiters were designed to wrap around the lower leg and upper boot, fastening along the outer side. A small fabric tab is stitched at the top edge for pulling tight.

These gaiters are typical of those worn by Commonwealth forces during the Second World War as part of the battle dress uniform, used to protect against mud and debris and to secure the trousers over field boots.
