Crown inside a circle of gold leaves on a black background. Master warrant officers often hold senior leadership roles such as school sergeant majors or regimental sergeant majors of brigade -sized units. The school sergeant major of Officer Cadet School is a master warrant officer. There are two of these. One is in the vertical cabinet on the 1st shelf & the other is in storageAn embroidered Canadian Armed Forces Master Warrant Officer rank insignia, featuring a red and gold crown surrounded by a circular wreath of gold maple leaves on a black felt background. The badge is oval in shape with clean machine-stitched edges.

The design symbolizes senior non-commissioned leadership within the Canadian Forces. The Master Warrant Officer (MWO) rank is one of the most senior appointments held by Non-Commissioned Members (NCMs) and is equivalent to Master Chief Petty Officer (2nd class) in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Master Warrant Officers typically serve as School Sergeant Majors, Regimental Sergeant Majors, or in other senior leadership positions at the brigade or institutional level—such as the School Sergeant Major of the Officer Cadet School.
