Small hard-sided travel/document case with a wood frame covered in black fiber board or leatherette, reinforced brass or nickel corner caps, a folding carrying handle, and a hinged lid secured by a lock plate with working keyhole and a hasp/latch closure. The interior is lined in dark cloth on the underside of the lid, with a small round maker’s/retailer’s label affixed at upper left, and an unlined plywood base and side panels. The exterior front is hand-painted in yellow lettering with the surname « Dickson, » with a second, mostly illegible word beneath it (possibly a first name or place name).
