Marine Location Marker

Cylindrical metal device marked “R.C.A.F. Marker, Location, Marine, MK 25 MOD 2”, designed to be used as a marine location marker by the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The marker was used to signal or identify positions at sea, typically during air-sea rescue operations, training missions, or naval coordination exercises. It includes detailed printed instructions for both hand launching and aircraft (AERO 1A or 1B) launching.

Inscription reads:

“TO ARM FOR HAND LAUNCHING – Rotate cover to armed position. Push two vent plugs in.”
“TO ARM FOR AERO 1A OR 1B LAUNCHING – Rotate cover to armed position. Do not push vent plugs in.”

Additional printed markings indicate:

“R.C.A.F. Marker, Location, Marine, MK 25 MOD 2 / 1370/00-804-3564 / CD 768801 / LOT No. CIL-2-26 / May 1966.”
