Hardcover naval training manual bound in dark blue cloth covers with embossed titling on the front cover. The title page reads « B.R. 67 / Supplied for the Public Service / MANUAL OF SEAMANSHIP / 1937 / BY AUTHORITY OF THE LORDS COMMISSIONERS OF THE ADMIRALTY / VOLUME ONE ». It notes: « Reproduced as amended in Canada, (Jan. 1942) by the King’s Printer, Ottawa… for the exclusive use of His Majesty’s Canadian Naval Forces ». The inner front endpaper features a large black ink stamp reading « R. TURNBULL », while the facing flyleaf features pencil handwriting reading « W. TURNBULL / Cornwallis » above a ghost ink stamp.
