World War II Royal Canadian Air Force Service Book and Pay Book (R.C.A.F. A.47 Part 1) bound in reddish-brown cloth covers, issued to Flying Officer Vernon Sydney Bayne Clark (Service No. J41477). The internal pages detail personal particulars including trade as « School Teacher », date of birth « 21-5-23 », date of appointment « 11-2-44 », and next-of-kin wife in Montreal. Inside cover/endpapers feature handwritten French contact addresses in Paris (« 3 Rue Lotatof Paris 13 »). Accompanying the booklet are two associated loose ephemera pieces found inside: a newspaper clipping from The Maple Leaf depicting RCAF personnel crafting wooden toys at Torquay depot (with French address note on reverse), and a typed course completion slip certifying that « F/O Clark » completed an Engine Handling Course for Merlin engines at No. 1 E.C.D.U. Worksop on October 12, 1945.
