Shoe Brushes (Pair)

Image par défaut

A pair of oval wooden shoe brushes with dense black bristles. Both brushes have smoothly worn wooden handles, showing signs of prolonged use and patina. The bristles are still firm and intact, though slightly bent and uneven from wear. One of the brushes bears faint engraved or stamped markings along the side, partially legible under the wood’s darkened surface.

These brushes were typically part of a soldier’s or sailor’s kit, used to maintain leather boots and belts as part of daily uniform upkeep. Each serviceman was responsible for keeping his footwear polished to military standards, making these brushes essential personal items during mid-20th-century service life.
