8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s) Greatcoat

Olive drab wool double-breasted military overcoat featuring eight gilt metal buttons down the front and a wide notched collar. The coat includes two flapped side pockets and an integrated belt at the back. Both shoulders are fitted with buttoned epaulettes.

Each sleeve bears a red rectangular formation patch and a curved navy and red embroidered shoulder title reading “8th CANADIAN HUSSARS (PRINCESS LOUISE’S).” The interior is lined with quilted khaki fabric for insulation.

This greatcoat would have been worn over the service dress uniform during cold weather by a member of the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s), an armoured regiment of the Canadian Army.
