glass butter churn

A domestic table-top mechanical butter churn consisting of a heavy, square-sided clear glass jar and a complex metal lid mechanism. The top features a cast-metal frame with a turning gear crank and wooden handle that rotates an internal vertical metal rod fitted with wooden paddle blades inside the jar. The front face of the glass jar is embossed with lettering reading « BUTTER CHURN » along the arch, « MADE IN ENGLAND, » and capacity markings at the base.
