A pair of metal strap-on ice skates, commonly known as club skates, made entirely of forged steel. Each skate consists of a flat metal base shaped to fit under a boot sole, with cut-out patterns for weight reduction and design, and an integrated blade runner underneath. Adjustable metal clasps and loops at both ends were used to attach the skates securely to the wearer’s footwear.
The skates show heavy rust and surface corrosion, indicating significant age and use. They are utilitarian in design, reflecting early 20th-century or late 19th-century European recreational skating equipment.
