First-Aid Dressing

Small rectangular khaki cotton field dressing marked R.C.A.M.C. Dressing, Shell, Mark III, containing a sterile wound pad and bandage sealed within a cloth outer cover. Printed black instructions detail use for shell or shrapnel wounds, including instructions to open by tearing at the marked corners and to avoid touching the gauze.

Manufactured in 1954 for the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps (R.C.A.M.C.), this dressing represents the post-WWII continuation of the standard-issue wound dressings used by Canadian forces during the Second World War.
