Rectangular brown fabric-covered case containing a metal safety razor and a small cardboard box of Gillette double-edge blades. The interior of the case is lined with brown cloth and divided into fitted compartments to hold the disassembled razor handle and head. The fabric exterior is worn and slightly stained, with faint stencilled numbers or markings visible on the top surface.
Razor kits of this type were included in aircrew and field survival kits issued to Canadian and British personnel during and after the Second World War. Maintaining hygiene in the field was essential for both morale and infection prevention. The compact design allowed it to fit neatly inside portable survival or toiletry pouches.
