Broad Axe

A broad-bladed axe with a heavy iron head and a short wooden handle. The blade is wide and semicircular, with one flat side and one beveled cutting edge, typical of axes used for shaping and smoothing timber. The metal head is corroded and darkened from age and use, while the wooden handle is rounded and shows traces of paint, possibly from past carpentry work. The head is fitted securely, though the top of the handle shows splitting and wear from repeated impact.
