Death Tag

Rectangular engraved metal plaque bearing an inscription commemorating Private Hubert Bénard of Le Régiment de la Chaudière. The tag reads “Mort pour la Patrie” (“Died for the Fatherland”), followed by the date 13 January 1945. The edges are framed by a decorative border, and the surface shows slight oxidation and wear consistent with age.
