Colour photograph, laminated, showing a closer view of the abandoned Dingwell house on Brion Island (Île Brion), Îles-de-la-Madeleine, photographed in summer 2001. The two-story wood-shingled house, with its red-painted metal roof, gabled dormer, and lower rear ell, shows advanced deterioration: all window sashes are missing, doorways stand open and unglazed, and the roof of the connecting ell has partially collapsed, exposing rotted framing timbers. Tall grass, thistles, and encroaching evergreen shrubs surround the foundation, further emphasizing the building’s long abandonment.
This photograph, taken from a different angle than 2025.042, provides additional documentation of the house’s condition and helps date the deterioration visible in that companion image to circa 2001 or earlier.
