Wooden model of the frigate USS Constitution, rigged with three masts, cloth sails, and cordage rigging, with a painted hull (dark red/maroon below the waterline, black and grey topsides) featuring painted gun ports, a metal anchor and chain at the bow, and metal railings on the quarterdeck and forecastle. This is a decorative/souvenir-type model — this style, bearing a « CONSTITUTION 1814 » nameplate, was mass-produced as maritime décor rather than being a museum-grade scale replica. The model was originally mounted on a blue-painted wooden display base with a brass-tone « CONSTITUTION / 1814 » nameplate; per catalogers’ notes, the model has since been removed from that base, and the base is slated for disposal (ref. LF2026).
