Portable military radio transceiver, model BC-611-F, commonly known as a “handie-talkie.” Rectangular olive drab metal casing with built-in circular speaker and microphone at opposite ends. Features a rubber-covered push-to-talk button on the side, a folding antenna mounted at the top, and a removable bottom cap for battery compartment access. A black handle is attached to the top for carrying.
Developed for the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II, this model was used by field units for short-range communication, typically within platoons or between command posts.
