Slender wooden swagger stick/staff with a cast metal (brass or bronze) finial in the form of a stylized four-lobed trefoil (shamrock-like) shape, featuring a raised torch or obelisk-like central device flanked by two five-pointed stars, with an empty scroll/ribbon banner below the trefoil (motto or inscription, if originally present, is not legible/may never have been inscribed). The finial is fitted to the wooden shaft via a ribbed metal collar/ferrule. The metal finial shows an aged brass/bronze patina with scattered pink-toned corrosion spots; the wooden shaft shows a two-tone finish, darker near the top and lighter toward the tip.
