Shell Casing

Cylindrical brass shell casing, empty and inert. The base rim is slightly oxidized with traces of blue-green patina typical of aged brass. The body shows uniform discoloration and surface wear, suggesting extended exposure to air and moisture.

This casing likely originated from a medium- or large-caliber artillery round, possibly used by the Canadian or British armed forces during the Second World War. Such casings were commonly used for field artillery, naval guns, or tank ammunition and later kept as souvenirs or adapted for civilian use (e.g., trench art).
