Shoulder Title

A rectangular, arched cloth shoulder title patch made of dark maroon wool with white embroidered lettering bordered in red. The patch reads LE RÉGIMENT DE LA CHAUDIÈRE and is unfinished along the edges, suggesting it was removed from a uniform.

This insignia was worn on the upper sleeve of the battledress jacket to identify members of Le Régiment de la Chaudière, an infantry regiment of the Canadian Army originating from Montmagny, Québec. The unit served with distinction during World War II, notably landing on Juno Beach on D-Day (June 6, 1944) as part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.
