A small round tin container, army green in color, containing sunburn preventive cream paste issued to military personnel. The tin is metal with a twist-off lid, and still contains remnants of the original cream. The label is printed directly onto the lid in black text.
The product was manufactured by Hillcrest Laboratories, Inc. under U.S. military contract in December 1966, as indicated by the Defense Supply Agency (DSA) number and contract code. Such tins were included in personal hygiene kits or field packs, particularly for troops deployed in sunny or tropical regions where ultraviolet exposure posed health risks.
