Thimble

A small metal thimble used to protect the finger while sewing. The thimble has a domed top and is covered with a regular pattern of indentations (dimples) to prevent the needle from slipping. It shows some surface oxidation and rust, indicating age and frequent use. The lower edge features a slight ridged band for grip and decoration.
