Rectangular wooden case designed to contain a battery hydrometer set manufactured by Exide Batteries. The box is long and narrow, constructed of joined wooden planks with a sliding brass latch closure on the front and simple metal hinges at the back. Traces of original paper labeling and black stenciled lettering are visible on the lid, indicating its Canadian manufacture and model number.
The interior (not shown) includes a printed temperature correction chart for hydrometer readings, used to measure the specific gravity of battery electrolyte fluid.
