The cream-colored dial is printed with a pressure scale from 27 to 31 (inches of mercury) with weather condition descriptions arranged around the perimeter — « Stormy, » « Rain, » « Change, » « Fair, » « Very Dry » — and a plain black indicating hand alongside a secondary brass adjustable pointer. The dial is inscribed « Short & Mason, London » and « Made in England » at the base. The dial surface shows scattered dark staining/discoloration and a small area of paint loss near the « Fair » marking; the brass case shows tarnish and mottled patina overall.
