Webbing Brace

A woven khaki canvas webbing strap with brass fittings at both ends and two brass adjustment loops on the reverse. This piece forms part of the Pattern 1937 webbing system used by British and Commonwealth forces during and after the Second World War. The item includes two attachment hooks on the reverse for securing to a utility belt or pack.

The system allowed modular attachment of pouches, haversacks, and equipment, distributing the soldier’s load evenly across the shoulders. This model remained in Canadian service into the 1970s before being replaced by the 1958 and later 1982 Pattern webbing systems.
