Set of two Second World War–era Canadian Army identification tags, attached together by a white silk ribbon. The set includes:
-One octagonal fibre tag (greenish-brown)
-One circular fibre tag (red)
Both are stamped with the soldier’s service information:
E-30381 RFM W. B. CHENELL C OF E CDN
The use of fibre material was standard issue for the Canadian military during WWII, with one tag intended to remain with the body and the other for record-keeping in case of death in service.
