Brown leather-cased field telephone set with carrying handle and two brass front buckles for closure. The case contains an internal telephone receiver attached via a cloth-covered cord, along with a Morse-code-style signaling key mounted inside the unit.
Two circular brass terminals are located on the exterior side panels, designed for connection to field communication lines. The interior houses a metal communications box (possibly a magneto generator and transmitter unit).
The robust leather case, with reinforced stitching and brass fittings, was designed to protect the instrument during field operations.
