Helmet

A steel “Brodie”–style helmet painted in bright yellow, with visible chipping and cracking in the surface paint. The helmet features a khaki web chinstrap attached by metal fittings and a black rubber and canvas suspension liner, typical of civil defence and auxiliary service helmets used during the Second World War.

The vivid yellow paint identifies this helmet as a civilian or auxiliary services issue, possibly for firewatchers, air raid wardens, or rescue personnel, where high visibility was required. Its shape follows the Mark II pattern, a design widely adopted by British and Commonwealth forces and adapted for non-combat roles during wartime.
